‘Rewound Radio’ to Feature Ron Lundy Tribute Weekend
A post on the New York Radio Message Board announced a weekend at Rewound Radio featuring all Ron Lundy. Unscoped airchecks from both radio stations (including his final show on CBS-FM) will be streamed. Rewound Radio writes: "This is a chance to relive hearing Ron from his early days in 1965 until his retirement in 1997."
The Ron Lundy tribute begins Friday at 3pm on Rewound Radio.

77 WABC Deejay Ron Lundy Dead at 75
Ron Lundy, one of the deejays who made 77 WABC/New York a Top 40 icon during the 1960s and 1970s, has died. Lundy worked at WABC-AM from 1965 until 1982. When WABC flipped to talk radio, Lundy made a move to WCBS-FM where he worked from 1982 until 1997.According to musicradio77.com, Lundy retired to Mississippi after leaving WCBS-FM. After a series of health problems, Lundy succumbed to a heart attack. He was 75.

If you're a fan of Old Time Radio - recordings from the Golden Age of Radio - then you'll want to check this out.The website has posted 5 different St. Patrick's Day-themed shows and segments which aired from 1939 through 1960. They include Beat the Band from 1940 which features a complete show of St. Patrick's Day music, a short skit with Bob Hope telling Irish jokes, a 1941 Burns and Allen episode called "St. Patrick's Parade", and a couple more.

119 Words You Can’t Say on the Radio, at Least WGN Chicago
Tribune Co. CEO Randy Michaels has issued a list of 119 words and phrases which should never be spoken on WGN-AM/Chicago by anchors or reporters."WGN news director Charlie Meyerson, good soldier that he is, passed on what he identified as Michaels' 'list of forbidden "newsspeak" words and phrases' in a memo to his staff Monday, with the explicit warning: 'Don't say them on WGN,' according to Robert Feder's blog.
Included on the list: "Alleged", area residents", "campaign trail", "diva", "incarcerated", "perfect storm", "reportedly", "untimely death", and "you folks".

Radio, TV Come Together to Honor NY Mayor with Golden Mike Award
Some of broadcasting's biggest names showed up for the Golden Mike Award Monday night at the Plaza Hotel in New York City.
Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg was honored in recognition of his "outstanding contribution to the radio and television industries and to the community at large." The event also raised more than $200,000 for broadcasters in need.
