Eminem to Offer ‘Recovery’ on SIRIUS XM Radio

Eminem will open up during a two-hour interview to air on his Shade 45 channel.

"Eminem's The Road to Recovery," will premiere on Thursday, July 1 at 8:00 pm ET on Shade 45, SIRIUS channel 45 and XM channel 66. According to a news release: "Eminem will take listeners on a trip behind-the-scenes of the making of his highly-anticipated new album Recovery." (Eminem at Shade 45 studios, Photo: SIRIUS XM Radio)

The special will cover Eminem's career, what inspired the new album, and personal insights into the songs from Recovery. Shade 45 is SIRIUS XM's uncensored, commercial-free hip-hop channel created by Eminem.

Radio Host Steve Cochran Leaves WGN-AM Chicago

Steve Cochran is out at WGN-AM/Chicago. His contract was just about up and the station has opted to replace him with Mike McConnell who leaves a position at WLW-AM/Cincinnati.

Since McConnell won't be in Chicago until early August, a series of guest hosts will fill Cochran's former 1 - 3 p.m. shift until then.

According to Lewis Lazare at suntimes.com: "The departure of Cochran is certain to be another jarring change for some longtime WGN listeners who have been upset by the seemingly unending series of talent and programming changes that have hit the station during the past 18 months...to give the station an edgier sound and attract a younger, 25 to 54-year-old demographic."
