List of Advertisers Deserting Limbaugh Grows

The Associated Press is reporting a 7th advertiser has pulled its commercials from the Rush Limbaugh program. (Right: Rush Limbaugh Publicity Photo)

"ProFlowers said Sunday on its Facebook page that it has suspended advertising on Limbaugh's program because his comments about Georgetown University student Sandra Fluke 'went beyond political discourse to a personal attack and do not reflect our values as a company,'" reported AP.

Limbaugh apologized on Saturday through a written statement on his official website for referring to law student, Sandra Fluke, as a "slut" and "prostitute" earlier in the week. On Wednesday, Limbaugh was discussing her testimony to a congressional committee of Democrats on national health care and the mandate to cover birth control for women.

Rush Limbaugh Apologizes Over Law Student Comments

According to suntimes.com, "...he had branded [her] a 'slut' and 'prostitute' after fellow Republicans as well as Democrats criticized him and several advertisers left his program."

In a published statement at rushlimbaugh.com, Limbaugh said: "I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke."

Limbaugh also noted, "I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress."
