Would Howard Stern Go Back to Clear Channel Radio?

There's a conversation bubbling up in the media about the possibility that Clear Channel Radio might be interested in talking to Howard Stern. Stern will be clear of his current SIRIUS XM Radio contract at the end of this year. (Howard Stern, Photo: SIRIUS Satellite Radio)

David Hinckley at nydailynews.com writes, "Clear Channel...said Monday it would be interested in talking with Stern, the long-time poster boy for edgy radio content."

Of course, Stern would have to take a leap in self-control when it comes to his language and content since his current gig on Satellite Radio affords him the ability to say anything he likes without regard to F.C.C. rules or regulations. Going back to Clear Channel and terrestrial radio (AM/FM) would mean Stern would once again be subject to regulations and potential fines over offensive or indecent material.

Stern's program aired on several Clear Channel stations until it was yanked in February, 2004. Earlier that year, Stern's behavior got Clear Channel Radio fined $495,000 for indecency.
